  NEWS   Nigeria Sliding Into Anarchy – Governor Ishaku Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku, has said that Nigeria is dangerously sliding into anarchy and becoming a failed state due to increased insecurity. The governor raised the alarm in Jalingo, the state capital, on Saturday, during an interview with journalists to mark his sixth year in office. He said, “Nigeria is sliding to a failed state, yes of cause Nigeria is sliding into anarchy. Even the blind can see that we are sliding into anarchy and the deaf can hear about that too.” According to him, the increasing spate of insecurity across the country and the inability of the military and other security agencies to address the situation were indications of anarchy. “The military should be in charge of flushing out insurgents.   NEWS   Sowore Shot During Protest At Unity Fountain, Abuja Omoyele Sowore the Convener of RevolutionNow, Sowere Omoyele and a former presidential aspirant said he has been shot by a female police officer at the Unity Fountain, Abuja. Tweeting via his official handle, @YeleSowore, he wrote: “Just been shit by a police officer, ACP Atine at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. #RevolutionNow Let the struggle continue even if they take my life! #BuhariMustGo.” Sowore was reportedly shot as the police blocked protesters from entering Unity Fountain. He is said to be receiving treatment at a hospital in Abuja. It is unclear whether it was a tear gas canister or a bullet that is responsible for the ‘shot’ wound.

  NEWS   Government behind us, bandits tell parents of kidnapped students of Greenfield University The 16 abducted students  and staff of Greenfield University, Kasarami, Chikun local government of Kaduna  state have been released after 39 days in captivity.  Bandits stormed Greenfield University on April 20th, 2021 killing a gateman for attempting to shut the game against them, before kidnapping 19 students and three female staff of the university. Five of the students were later killed by the bandits, before parents of one of them paid some ransom to secure his freedom.  The remaining three female staff and 13 students were released Saturday afternoon near Ollam Farms along Kaduna – Abuja highway after the payment of an unspecified amount as ransom by the parents. The freed captives were taken over by some security men around the Ollam Farms ostensibly to hand them over to the police authorities.  But this infuriated the angry parents who broke into Ollam Farms to pick their children

  NEWS   IPOB mourns Ahmed Gulak, says it has no hand in his death The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condoled with the family of Ahmed Gulak, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who was killed in Owerri, Imo State by gunmen on Sunday. IPOB in a statement issued by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, said it had no hand in the death of the former Special Assistant on Politics to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, contrary to speculations. The group said Gulak was not a threat to the Biafra agitation and moreover, the group is not a terrorist network, so had no reason to assassinate the ex-Presidential aide. Gulak was murdered on Sunday morning in Owerri, the Imo State capital while trying to catch a flight at Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport.
