Today Africa mourns the loss of a great son, a leader, and a visionary:
Kofi Annan, the former UN secretary-general who won the Nobel Peace Prize for humanitarian work has died at the age of 80.
Mr Annan is reported to have died in the early hours of Saturday in Switzerland.
He was the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006.
He was founder and Chairman of the Kofi Annan Foundation.
A life well lived. A life worth celebrating.

  IPOB rejects calls to  merge ESN, Ebubeagu,  says light, darkness never  works together The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Monday, restated that its security outfit, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) would not identify with the newly established Ebubeagu. iMagazine Publications recalls that the five governors in the Southeast recently launched Ebubeagu as a security outfit for the region to tackle the increasing rate of insecurity. Some concerned Nigerians particularly from the Southeast have called for the merge of the two security outfits for the benefit of the region.
